calculplaques.ch was born from a simple need: to be able to estimate a vehicle’s annual tax quickly, without going through several sources or looking up technical data that can be hard to find.
In practice, the calculation can quickly become complicated. Depending on the canton and the vehicle, you may need to know the CO₂ emissions, the power, the weight, the engine capacity, the type approval or other administrative and technical characteristics.
The aim of calculplaques.ch is to make this process as simple as possible.
The service identifies a vehicle from a few simple pieces of information, then uses the available data and the relevant cantonal rates to provide a clear and quick estimate.
The project was first developed to meet a personal need: to compare different vehicles easily and quickly find out their annual tax cost. Given how useful the tool proved to be, it was then decided to make it available to everyone free of charge.
calculplaques.ch aims to make this information more accessible, without requiring any particular knowledge of cars or administrative matters.
