Privacy
In short No advertising, no audience measurement, no tracking cookies. The site uses no external services to display: your visit is passed on to no one. Only what you write in the contact form and, anonymously, searches that found nothing are kept.
Controller
The controller responsible for data processing is the operator of calculplaques.ch. For any question about your data, use the page Contact.
Tax calculation
The information you enter to identify a vehicle (model, year, answers to questions, registration document code) is used only for the calculation. It is not stored with your identity.
To improve the service, the text of searches that return no result is kept for 180 days, without an IP address or any other data about you. A licence plate number typed by mistake is never kept.
Contact form
If you write to us, your message, your e-mail address (optional) and the date are stored on the site’s server, then forwarded by e-mail to the operator’s mailbox, hosted by Apple (iCloud). Apple’s servers may be located outside Switzerland, in particular in the United States.
Messages are deleted automatically after 12 months. They are used only to reply to you and to correct the site; they are never passed on to third parties.
To limit abuse, an anonymised fingerprint of your IP address is kept for one hour, and message content is analysed automatically to filter out advertising.
Cookies
The site uses only technical cookies, required for it to work:
- cpg_lang and cpg_canton: the language and canton you chose (kept for one year);
- cpg_contact: security of the contact form (deleted when the browser is closed);
- cpg_admin: site administration, reserved for the operator.
No advertising or audience-measurement cookies are used. You can delete cookies in your browser settings.
Hosting
The site is hosted in Switzerland by Infomaniak. Like any web server, it keeps technical logs (IP address, page requested, date) for security and proper operation, under the host’s rules. The site’s error log contains only the page concerned and the date.
Vehicle data
Technical vehicle data comes from public files of the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). It describes vehicle models and contains no data about vehicle holders.
Your rights
You can ask which data about you is kept, and have it corrected or deleted, by writing to us via the Contact page. You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
